HGREADME.TXT Unzipping the hdsg_122.zip file will yield the following contents: disk1.zip disk2.zip disk3.zip The instructions below will indicate how to make installation floppies from the HDSG's ZIP file. After the floppies have been created, these diskettes can be used to update your HDSG292 software. The zip files have been compressed with the PKZIP utility. This procedure assumes that you have access to the PKUNZIP utility and understand how to decompress a zipped file. FLOPPY DISK INSTALLATION First unzip the files to make a three-disk set that can then be installed via the HDVA292's floppy drive. Have three blank, formatted floppy disks available for copying the install files onto. 1) PKUNZIP the file hdsg_122.zip to retrieve three new zip files: disk1.zip, disk2.zip and disk3.zip 2) Insert a blank floppy disk into the floppy drive. PKUNZIP the file disk1.zip onto the floppy disk. This will decompress and copy the entire contents of disk1.zip to the floppy drive. Remove the floppy disk and label it HDSG292 Disk 1. 3) In a similar manner, PKUNZIP the file disk2.zip. Label this floppy HDSG292 Disk 2. 4) Finally, PKUNZIP the file disk3.zip. Label this floppy HDSG292 Disk 3. Now, use the installation floppies to update the HDSG292 Software. Make sure that the HDVA292 or HDSG292 Analyzer is powered-on. When it is powered-on and the HDVA292 Application is running, then select OFF and exit the HDVA292 application. Repeat this step to exit the HDSG292 application. Leave the platform operating system (WindowsNT) running. 1) Insert HDSG292 Disk1 into the HDVA292 Analyzer's floppy drive. 2) Open the Start menu by pressing the Start button found in the lower left-hand corner of the display. 3) Select "Run ..." 4) In the Run dialog, type A:\SETUP and then press the OK button. Follow the Setup Wizard instructions, including inserting Disk 2 and Disk 3 when called for. 5) At the end of the installation, the Reboot? dialog will appear. After you press the OK button to reboot, wait until WindowsNT writes data to the disk. After the data is written to disk and while the analyzer is rebooting, remove Disk3 from the floppy drive.
